Meet the new leader of our Intellectual Property litigation team, Partner Bob Sloss! Based in our Silicon Valley office, Bob has broad experience in litigating patents related to a variety of technologies, including software, computer peripherals, mechanical devices and biotechnology, as well as matters involving copyright, trademark and trade secrets. He leverages his experience as a senior in-house lawyer with a leading technology innovator to resolve his clients’ legal disputes. Teen Inventor Secures Patent for Robotic Dog Petter
Kudos to client and teen inventor Cassidy Matwiyoff on securing a U.S. patent for her innovative dog back scratcher! The recent graduate of the Academy of Our Lady of Peace high school in San Diego, California, has invented a robotic device called Bow Wow that dispenses a treat to attract the dog, then uses sophisticated motion sensors to pet the dog with a robotic arm complete with motion-accurate fingers. This provides companionship to the pet while the owners are away. Cassidy secured the patent (US 11,991,983 B2) with the assistance of Procopio IP Partner Stephen Beuerle.

We join so many in mourning the passing of the legendary Bill Walton. Many know him for his dominance on the basketball court or his engaging broadcast color commentary.
